Craft a compelling resume without a tech background
Tips
Lead with impact, not duties
"Organised college fest" → "Coordinated a 3-day fest with 1,200+ attendees, managing 25 volunteers and a ₹2 L budget."
Soft skills need evidence
Don't list "Communication skills" — prove it: "Presented quarterly project to 50 + students, received Best Presenter award."
Certifications > blank space
Google Analytics, HubSpot Inbound, Excel (MOS), NISM (finance), SHRM Essentials (HR) — even basics strengthen a non-tech resume.
Internship experience is gold
Even an unpaid 2-month internship should be prominent. Describe what you did, not just the company name and dates.
Extra-curriculars: show leadership
NSS, NCC, Student Council, Debate Club — list only if recent (last 2 years) and you had a visible, named role.

Common Mistakes
Listing every club you were "a member" of
Membership without contribution is noise. Keep only roles where you led, organised, or achieved something specific.
"Strong communication and teamwork skills"
Every resume says this. Prove it with examples: "Led a cross-functional team of 8 for a product launch" shows both.
No objective/summary for non-tech roles
Unlike tech, a 2-3 line targeted objective works for non-tech: "Aspiring HR professional with intern experience in TA, seeking a generalist role at a growth-stage company."
